About Dos Mestizx:
We are a Xicanx art collective made up of Suzy González and Michael Menchaca and based in San Antonio, TX. Collective projects include curation, public art, exhibitions, and lectures.
We created the large-scale public artwork, ¡Adelante! at the San Antonio International Airport, installed in 2018. That same year, we completed the National Association of Latino Arts and Cultures Leadership Institute. In 2017, we were visiting artists at the University of Connecticut, where we lectured and exhibited a two-person show, Mestizx Nation. We attended both the Wassaic Project Residency and the Starry Night Residency in 2016.
Most recently, we curated XicanX: New Visions at The Clemente Center in New York City and at Centro de Artes in San Antonio, TX. We received our BFA from Texas State University and our MFA from the Rhode Island School of Design.
